PRE- Adoption On-Line Reference Guide

Kittens & Cats

TPC Does not accept kittens under 12 weeks of age unless the mother is available to test for FIV. However, this may be waived ONLY if the TPC's president pre-approves the kittens, and remember until a kitten is atleast 12 weeks of age, a FIV test may NOT be correct in results.

Since, animals come to us at different of ages with little to no history, vaccines may start as soon as they enter the rescue, and follow every 2-3 weeks until fully vaccinated against Distemper. Vaccinations should begin when  kittens turn 6-8 weeks old, and de-wormed.

Vaccine included:feline panleukopenia (distemper), feline viral rhinotracheitis, feline calicivirus.

TPC does not require Rabies to be apart of the adoption, but is instead the responsiblity of the adoptee, if the vaccine was not given beforehand. TPC tries to have Rabies included for kittens over the age of 6 months, but is NOT a guarantee. It would be noted on the animals' listing if this has been included in the adoption fee.

Kittens are no longer adopted until they are spay/neutered (which can be completed at  9 weeks of age, and weight is atleast 2 lbs). This service can be preformed at either Colerain Animal Clinic and or UCAN.

Most kittens are Micro-chipped before adopted, however this is based on the availablity of the person doing the micro-chipping and the temperment of the kitten/cat.

Kittens/Cats may or may NOT have been vet checked. TPC offers a 14 day 100% money guarantee on our rescues, and also offer a FREE office visit to Banfield Animal Hospital.

If an animal is returned during the 14 day trail adoption period, a refund maybe issued within 14 business days of the return, unless otherwise noted. A refund may not be issued  if the animal is returned in worst condition than when was adopted. Please read the adoption contact for more details.

Kittens/Cats will be taken in for an exam if needed while in foster care, but we do NOT guarantee a visit will be made before an adoption is completed.

TPC highly suggest ALL foster parents and adopting families to read "Kittens for Dummies" to learn more about the care of kittens and cats. This is the book used as a referrance, and can be signed out (loaned) to foster parents, and or checked out at any local libary.

Dogs/Puppies

Since, animals come to us at different ages with little to no history, vaccines may start as soon as they enter the rescue, and follow every 2-3 weeks until fully vaccinated against Parvo. Please keep in mind Parvo signs may not show for up to 7 days after exposure. We prefer fosters not to be placed on the floor of public place, dog parks, etc. until the foster puppy has received atleast the 2nd set of shots. Rescue pups may start vaccines as early as 6-8 weeks.

Vaccine Inlcudes Atleast (if not more):distemper, parainfluenza, and parvovirus

Boratella Vaccine may OR may NOT be included in the series of Vaccines given to the rescue pet, unless the animal received the vaccine at a local animal shelter and or was placed in boarding, at some point during it's time in the rescue misson.

TPC will include a Rabies vaccines with any puppy over the age of 6 month.

We will also start any puppy over the age of 4 months on a heartworm preventative, and test any dog over the age of 7 months for the disease before starting a preventative.

Most dogs/puppies are placed on Frontline (or some type of flea preventative) during summer months (any month in which fleas are a concern).

Puppies are no longer adopted until they are spay/neutered (which can be completed at  9 weeks of age, and weight is atleast 2 lbs). This service can be preformed at either Colerain Animal Clinic and or UCAN.

Puppies/Dogs maybe Micro-chipped before adopted, however this is based on the availablity of the person doing the micro-chipping and the temperment of the animal.

Most dogs are adopted with a collar, and free training evulations.

TPC offers a 14 day 100% money guarantee on our rescues, and also offer a FREE office visit to Banfield Animal Hospital.

If an animal is returned during the 14 day trail adoption period, a refund maybe issued within 14 business days of the return. A refund may NOT be issued  if the animal is returned in worst condition than when was adopted. Please read the adoption contact for more details.
